This position is accountable for managing the activities of bargaining unit employees in the Operation Services Department. The principal challenge is to provide leadership in day-to-day activities that are aligned with departmental operating plans in the areas of safety & health, environment, cost, continuous improvement, quality, customer satisfaction and labour relations. The main responsibilities of that area are:
Molten metal transportation from the Potroom to the Casthouse
Crucible cleaning activities
Crushed bath transportation
Aluminium fluoride handling
FTC alumina handling
Pot relining activities
Essential:
Recognition of hazards associated with the operation of mobile equipment.
Pro team work
The employee is expected to go through job rotation to meet business and safety demands.
Desirable:
Costumer Focus: Capable of recognizing the importance of customers’ needs and satisfaction
Essential:
§ A Mechanical diploma Certificate and the ability to speak and understand simple English are required.
§ A very good communication skills and good relationship with other departments that are the customers.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Aluminium the Smelting facility, the process, materials, and people with demonstrated knowledge of operation services preferred.
Willingness to work in shifts
Desirable:
§ A Heavy Vehicle Driving License, a Vocational Training Certificate and industrial working experience is an asset.
Demonstrated PC skills are required, including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS-Outlook.
