Job Description:Ø Maintain the computer networking system in an environment by tracking server activity, performing upgrades, maintaining computer hardware and improving efficiency by evaluating system network functions
Ø Perform technical and administrative work in the design, installation, documentation and administration of server applications
Ø Provide technical support to end users; and perform server maintenance and testing
Ø Perform analytical and technical work, including planning, designing, installing and administering applications
Ø Responsible for all aspects of Unix/Linux support including software updates and upgrades, maintaining security compliance, transitioning to new software and hardware platforms, backup and recovery, performance management and capacity planning for the Unix/Linux environment.
Ø Install, configure, update and troubleshoot services for customers such as OS level concerns, web server, database server, applications server; includes Apache, MySQL, PHP, FTP, SSH, DNS, and DHCP.
Ø Monitor servers, application performances, backups. Analyze and diagnosis system failures. Recover and restore operating systems and application data.
Ø Provides strategic influence across groups, projects and products to implement cost-effective technology solutions to solve complex business problems.
Ø Develop and maintain documentation (best practice, solutions documents), procedures, and security and follow consistently ITIL processes for problem and change management. Establish and recommend policies and standards on systems and services.
Ø Determine and document business requirements and translate them into clear and concise technical specifications.
Ø Provide input and recommendations to management for infrastructure improvements for best quality service.
Ø Communicates system problems and proposes corrective actions to his management.
Ø Manage hardware and software inventory and license renewal
Ø Plays major role in the planning, implementation of disaster recovery and service continuity plans, standards and/or country specific requirements.
Ø Administration of VMware vSphere systems
Ø Ensuring availability and scalability requirements of storage and systems are clearly understood and addressed.
Ø Troubleshoot VMware related issues and perform system upgrades, capacity planning, and performance analysis as it relates to day-to-day operations.
Ø Provide 3rd level support to Help Desk to solve configuration and maintenance issues.
Ø Update the Service Desk tickets with problems and actions
Skills:Ø 8+ years relevant work experience
Ø Experience with network systems regarding server maintenance and server applications
Ø Experience with design, implementation and administrative work considering network and system functions
Ø Manage the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
Ø Manage DC and DRC systems and platforms
Ø Design and administer programs to include policies, standards, guidelines, training programs, and a viable quality assurance process for disaster recovery.
Ø Oversee and review the testing and implementation of software, data systems, and data networks to ensure that the integrity and security of all electronic data and data systems are adequately protected
Ø Facilitate the preparation of an organization-wide business resumption plan.
Ø Assist in the coordination and establishment of disaster recovery programs and business resumption planning across mainframe and client server platforms.
Ø Coordinate and monitor simulation testing across all platforms.
Ø Design and administer programs to include policies, standards, guidelines, training programs, and a viable quality assurance process for disaster recovery
Preferred Certifications:Ø Relevant UNIX system administration certifications
EducationØ B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical degree is highly desired
