Nationality: Saudi National · Qualification- Whether it be LLB /LLM/JD/SJD/PhD but whether or not they are a professionally qualified lawyer, solicitor or barrister in the jurisdiction they practice in. · Therefore it should be a soft 5 year upper limit, but definitely a 2 year minimum limit ( Minimum 2 Years Experience but not more 5 years) · Experience: Maximum 5 Years · Language- bi-linqual Arabic/ English OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: The vision for Ma’aden’s legal team is to be the Company’s trusted legal advisors and strategic business partners. The team is committed to adding value by being pro-active and providing creative, practical solutions in a responsive client-focused manner. The primary responsibility of the Legal Counsel is to provide legal advice, guidance, analysis and support on a broad range of corporate/commercial, corporate governance, finance, securities in addition to addressing issues corporate/commercial law related matters. This position will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, other members of the Legal and Compliance team, a variety of internal stakeholders across all functional areas at the corporate level, as well as strategic business units and affiliates, both wholly-owned and joint ventures. This position requires a high energy individual who strives to achieve success with the highest standards of performance while pursuing proactive, strategic, creative and practical solutions to the legal issues and challenges faced by the Company. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES · Provide legal counsel and advice to management of the company. · Assist Senior Legal Counsel and Chief Legal Counsel in managing the Company’s legal function which includes identifying and driving initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of legal support. · Support and lead where appropriate matters relating to company general company law corporate/commercial legal matters, including contract negotiation, drafting, interpretation and claims as necessary. · Support and promote the legal team’s vision. · Draft, review legal documents, including documents for a variety of transactions. · Interpret Saudi and international legislation and regulations relevant to the business, with support as required. · Work with Legal team to proactively identify and manage legal risks and alternative strategies · Develop and implement creative practical solutions to legal issues. · Research legal issues of substantial complexity on an international, national and regional basis to evaluate impact on the Company and provide advice · Create relationships of trust and respect with key internal stakeholders to become a “trusted advisor. · Keep abreast of legislative changes and be attuned to legal and business trends that could impact the business. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a recognized undergraduate law program in a common, civil, or sharia law jurisdiction (e.g. JD or LLB) with exceptional academic standing along with a corresponding professional qualification (attorney, solicitor, barrister), up to 5 years’ experience in-house in a leading international company and/or in private practice in a preeminent international law firm. Superior analytical, judgment and drafting skills, and an ability to coordinate complex or multi-faceted legal matters is a key requirement. The ideal candidate will display accountability and responsibility for actions and decisions. They will be experienced in successfully building organizational relationships, demonstrated by a solid track record of cultivating an active network of professional relationships inside and outside of the organization and the ability to relate well to all levels of employees. Judgment and an ability to apply broad knowledge when addressing highly complex issues are important. The successful candidate will possess the demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and know when and how to effectively utilize additional resources to manage workload and priorities. Excellent command of Arabic and English is required.
